18-Year-Old Noida Worker Swept Away in Sarita Vihar Drain Found Dead

The body of an 18-year-old youth who was swept away by a strong current in a drain in Sarita Vihar on Friday evening was recovered late Saturday night near the Agra Canal.

The deceased has been identified as Ankit, a resident of Bhim Colony in the Ali Village area. He worked as a pantry worker in Noida and was returning home from work when the incident occurred.

According to the police, Ankit was attempting to cross the drain by walking on top of a fast-flowing stream when he slipped and was swept away by the current. His body was eventually located downstream near the Agra Canal, where the Sarita Vihar drain opens up.

Police stated that a postmortem examination was conducted and the body was subsequently handed over to his family.
