Seasons swing hard
Delhi does extremes. Summers are scorching, winters are properly cold and foggy, and the short spring and autumn windows are gorgeous. Dress for whichever Delhi you've landed in.
Where to be
Central Delhi (Connaught Place, Khan Market, Lutyens') is the grand, leafy core. South Delhi (Hauz Khas, Saket, GK) is the cafe-and-nightlife belt. Old Delhi around Chandni Chowk is the historic, food-obsessed heart. The NCR satellites, Gurugram and Noida, are where a lot of the new work and malls are.
The mindset
Delhi runs on food, history and a bit of attitude. Eat boldly, see the monuments, and don't take the bargaining personally.
