Woman Injured After Jumping Off Rapido Scooter Headed to Vishwavidyalaya in Delhi

A woman sustained injuries after jumping off a moving Rapido scooter when the rider allegedly took her towards an isolated location instead of her destination near Vishwavidyalaya in Delhi and refused to stop the two-wheeler despite repeated pleas.

According to a video statement shared by the passenger on social media, the incident occurred when she booked a ride on the bike-taxi platform while commuting from her workplace. She was travelling towards Vishwavidyalaya when she noticed that the rider was navigating towards an unfamiliar and desolate stretch.

When questioned about the route, the rider reportedly told her that Vishwavidyalaya was located straight ahead. However, the woman grew suspicious upon seeing the empty and deserted surroundings. Sensing potential danger, she repeatedly requested the rider to halt the scooter immediately.

The passenger stated that she even offered to pay extra money to the rider if he brought the vehicle to a stop, but he allegedly ignored her requests and continued driving. She later mentioned that her brothers confirmed that the route taken by the driver was an isolated area where people rarely commute.

Fearing for her safety as the vehicle kept moving deeper into the deserted area, the woman attempted to intervene directly. She stated that she tried to physically strike the rider to force him to stop the scooter, but he continued riding.

With the rider refusing to halt, the passenger made the decision to jump off the moving two-wheeler. She suffered physical injuries during the fall, sustaining visible wounds on her hand and head.

The woman recounted the entire sequence of events in her social media video, detailing how the situation escalated from an ordinary commute into a life-threatening ordeal.
