Woman Arrested in Sector 42 for Assaulting Domestic Help at DLF Camellias

Gurugram Police arrested a 52-year-old woman on Monday for allegedly assaulting and forcibly restraining her domestic help at her apartment in DLF Camellias, located in Sector 42 on Golf Course Road, Gurugram. The woman was booked on charges of voluntarily causing hurt and wrongful confinement before later being released on bail.

The police action was initiated after a team from the Sushant Lok police station took suo motu cognisance of a video purportedly depicting the abuse that went viral on social media. In the 90-second video, believed to have been recorded secretly by a neighbour, the accused can be seen hitting the victim repeatedly and pulling her hair.

According to a senior police officer, the incident took place on July 24 inside the DLF Camellias complex. A preliminary investigation revealed that the 52-year-old woman allegedly assaulted her domestic help following a work-related argument.

Following the alleged assault, the domestic help subsequently quit her job on July 27. Police stated that further investigation into the incident is under way, and additional action will be taken in accordance with the law.
