Two Minors Apprehended for Stabbing Hotel Worker in Northeast Delhi's Kabutar Market

Two minors have been apprehended for allegedly stabbing a 25-year-old hotel worker with a kitchen knife following an argument over the taste of food in northeast Delhi's Kabutar Market, police said.

The injured worker has been identified as Ehasan, a local resident. The incident took place at around 9 pm on Friday while Ehasan was on duty at the hotel.

Following the attack, Ehasan was immediately rushed to Jag Pravesh Chandra Hospital by his neighbour. Due to the nature of his injuries, medical personnel later referred him to Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital for further treatment.

According to police, a preliminary inquiry revealed that two customers engaged in a heated argument with Ehasan regarding the taste of the food they had ordered at the eatery. The altercation escalated quickly, and the duo allegedly attacked the hotel worker with a sharp-edged weapon before fleeing the scene.

A case was formally registered at the Welcome police station under Sections 109 (attempt to murder) and 3(5) (common intention) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

A senior police officer stated that technical and field investigations were launched immediately to track down the assailants. Based on the investigation, police traced and apprehended the two suspects.

Upon apprehension, both suspects were found to be minors, aged 14 and 15 years old. During police questioning, they allegedly admitted their involvement in the stabbing incident.

Police have seized the vegetable-cutting knife used in the commission of the crime. Investigators are continuing to examine the exact circumstances surrounding the altercation and are verifying the full sequence of events.
