Two Men Abducted and Assaulted in Wazirpur, Dumped in Gujranwala Town

Two young men, including the son of a police officer, were allegedly assaulted and abducted by a group of men travelling in three vehicles in northwest Delhi's Wazirpur, before being dumped on a road in Gujranwala Town.

The incident came to light after the Ashok Vihar police station received a PCR call reporting an assault and the forcible abduction of two individuals near Shiv Shankar Chowk in the Wazirpur area. Investigators stated that the attack was the fallout of an earlier dispute between groups in the locality.

According to police officials, the victims have been identified as 26-year-old Udit Kumar, who is also the complainant in the case, and 24-year-old Nitin. Police confirmed that one of the two men is the son of a police officer, though investigators have not publicly disclosed which of the victims is related to the personnel.

In his statement to the police, Kumar recounted that he and Nitin were standing near a veterinary hospital in Wazirpur when several men arrived in three separate vehicles and attempted to seize Nitin. When Kumar stepped in to intervene and stop the group, the assailants turned violent. Both Kumar and Nitin were assaulted, subjected to threats, and forced into one of the attackers' vehicles.

The kidnappers drove the two men away from the scene and eventually threw them out near Vinayak Hospital in Gujranwala Town before fleeing the area. Passersby and emergency responders assisted the victims following the incident.

Both injured men were subsequently shifted to Deep Chand Bandhu Hospital, where they underwent medical examinations for their injuries.

Following Kumar's complaint, the Ashok Vihar police registered a criminal case under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The charges include Section 140(3) for abduction, Section 115(2) for voluntarily causing hurt, and Section 351(2) for criminal intimidation. A senior police officer said that investigators have identified the suspects involved in the attack and multiple teams are actively conducting raids to arrest them.
