Two Juveniles Apprehended for Stabbing Hotel Worker in Delhi's Welcome Area
Delhi Police have apprehended two juveniles, aged 14 and 15, for allegedly stabbing a 25-year-old hotel worker following a dispute over food payment at Kabutar Market in northeast Delhi's Welcome area on August 21.
The victim, identified as Ehasan, was attacked after the two customers finished two plates of chicken biryani and refused to pay, complaining about the quality of the meal.
According to police, the two juveniles ordered two plates of chicken biryani and consumed the entire meal. When Ehasan asked them to pay the bill, an argument broke out as the customers claimed the food lacked taste and was overly salty.
Ehasan attempted to defuse the situation and pacify the customers, but the dispute escalated. One of the juveniles then pulled out a vegetable-cutting knife and stabbed Ehasan before both fled the scene.
A neighbour took Ehasan to JPC Hospital for immediate medical attention. Police received a call regarding the incident from the hospital at around 9:07 pm, after which officers visited the hospital and inspected the crime scene alongside a forensic team. Ehasan was subsequently referred to RML Hospital for further treatment.
An FIR was registered at Welcome police station under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita sections 109(1) for attempt to murder and 3(5) for common intention.
A police team was formed to track down the suspects through available leads and searches across multiple locations. Both juveniles were traced and apprehended. Police said the two admitted to their involvement during questioning, and the vegetable-cutting knife used in the attack was recovered from their possession.
