Two brothers injured in Mohalla Nitaryana kitchen fire near Ajmeri Gate

Two teenage brothers were injured on Thursday night after a fire broke out inside the kitchen of their residential house in Mohalla Nitaryana, located behind GB Road near Ajmeri Gate in central Delhi. The incident, which occurred at approximately 11:25 PM, prompted a swift emergency response from local residents, police personnel, and the fire department to the scene.

The injured siblings were identified by authorities as 14-year-old Waris and his 18-year-old brother, Fareed. Both of the young occupants sustained burn injuries as a result of the sudden kitchen fire. Waris suffered approximately 35 percent burns, while his older brother Fareed sustained nearly 20 percent burns during the incident.

According to officials from the Delhi Fire Services (DFS), the department received an emergency call reporting the fire at 11:25 PM on Thursday night. In response to the distress call, the DFS immediately dispatched two fire tenders to the residential property in Mohalla Nitaryana.

By the time the firefighters arrived at the location, the two brothers had already suffered their burn injuries. Local residents and Police Control Room (PCR) personnel rushed to assist the victims, successfully evacuating them from the building and shifting them to the Lok Nayak Jai Prakash (LNJP) Hospital.

Hospital authorities at LNJP Hospital confirmed that both Waris and Fareed are currently undergoing medical treatment. The hospital staff is closely monitoring the condition of both brothers as they receive care for their respective burn injuries.

The fire department officials confirmed that the blaze was successfully confined to the kitchen area of the house. Firefighters brought the flames under control before the fire could spread to any other parts of the residential building.

Following the incident, both the local police and fire department officials have launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of the kitchen fire.
