Two Arrested in Shahdara for Robbing Biker of Rs 44 Lakh in Northeast Delhi

Delhi Police have arrested two men for allegedly robbing a 52-year-old man of Rs 44 lakh in northeast Delhi, after the victim collected the cash from a scrap dealer at MS Park in Shahdara.

The complainant, identified as Jitendra Kumar, informed police that he had collected the cash from scrap dealer Avdhesh Tiwari at MS Park. Kumar was carrying the money on his motorcycle to deliver it to another person when he was intercepted on the road by two men.

According to investigators, one of the suspects intercepted Kumar while the second man approached him and allegedly snatched the bag containing Rs 44 lakh. Both men then quickly fled the spot with the stolen cash.

A video purportedly capturing the entire incident later surfaced on social media. The footage showed two men snatching Kumar's bag, with one of the assailants appearing to carry a pistol before the duo escaped. Despite several vehicles and pedestrians being present on the road during the daylight robbery, no bystanders intervened. A few people gathered around Kumar to offer help only after the robbers had fled the scene.

Following the incident, police registered a robbery case and initiated a detailed probe. During the investigation, officers discovered that Avdhesh Tiwari's son, 26-year-old Prabhay Tiwari, had allegedly hatched the robbery plan to repay an outstanding debt.

Investigators established that Prabhay was aware of the large cash transaction and conspired with an associate to execute the crime. Police subsequently arrested Prabhay, a resident of Shahdara, along with his accomplice Sarab Tiwari, 21, who is a resident of Sultanpur in Uttar Pradesh.

Police officials stated that Avdhesh Tiwari is also being questioned in connection with the robbery investigation.
