Three Policemen Injured in Chilli Powder and Brick Attack in Mukundpur

Three Delhi Police personnel sustained injuries after a group attacked them with chilli powder, bricks, and sticks in Mukundpur’s Janta Vihar on Saturday afternoon.

The incident took place at around 3.30 p.m. when Head Constables Dinesh and Rajesh, posted at the Bhalswa Dairy police station, returned to their beat area. The officers had previously seized a motorcycle that lacked valid documents and taken it to the police station under the provisions of the Delhi Police Act.

Upon the officers' return to the locality, a group assaulted them. Head Constable Tinu, who arrived at the location to assist his colleagues, was also attacked by the mob. Head Constable Dinesh sustained a head injury during the altercation. According to police officials, all three injured personnel are currently in stable condition.

Following the assault, police apprehended a 17-year-old juvenile with the assistance of local residents, while the remaining attackers fled the scene.

A case has been registered under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Police stated that the primary accused in the attack has been identified as Sunil, alias Pankaj, who has five criminal cases registered against him, including two under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
