Three Men Posing as Cops Gang-Rape 17-Year-Old in Park Near Kalkaji Mandir

A 17-year-old girl was allegedly gang-raped by three men who posed as police officers inside a park connecting Kalkaji Mandir and ISKCON Temple in southeast Delhi on Monday evening, police said.

According to the police complaint, the girl had visited Kalkaji Mandir with her 17-year-old male friend at around 7:00 pm on Monday. After offering prayers at the temple, the teenagers walked to the nearby park at around 7:30 pm.

While the two were inside the park, three unidentified men, estimated to be between 25 and 30 years old, approached them and claimed to be policemen. The three accused then allegedly threatened both the girl and her friend before sexually assaulting the girl.

The Delhi Police received a Police Control Room (PCR) call reporting the alleged sexual assault at the park between Kalkaji Mandir and ISKCON Temple at approximately 8:45 pm. Following the alert, a police team was immediately dispatched and reached the scene.

The victim, who is a resident of Delhi, was subsequently taken to a hospital for a mandatory medical examination. Police officials stated that further legal proceedings and action are currently being carried out based on the victim's official statement.

Investigators have registered a formal case under relevant provisions of the law, including sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. A search has been launched to identify and apprehend all three suspects involved in the crime.

Police teams are currently reviewing CCTV footage from cameras installed inside the park as well as across the surrounding neighbourhood to identify the suspects and establish the exact sequence of events. Authorities are also questioning individuals and gathering information about anyone who was present in or around the park premises during the time of the assault.
