Three arrested in Patel Nagar for running amphetamine drug racket

The Delhi Police have arrested three men for allegedly running an amphetamine drug racket in the Patel Nagar area of central Delhi. The arrests followed a targeted operation near the Shadipur Flyover, where police seized 54 grams of the banned substance and uncovered an illegal stay network involving expired visas.
According to the police, the crackdown began after they received a specific tip-off regarding the supply of narcotic substances in the Patel Nagar locality. In response, a specialized raiding team was formed to intercept the suspects, and a trap was laid near the Shadipur Flyover.
During the ambush, police intercepted 22-year-old Prince, a resident of Nihal Vihar. Upon searching him, the raiding team recovered 54 grams of amphetamine. Police investigations revealed that Prince is originally from Cape Town, South Africa, and had entered India in 2023 on a medical visa. His visa had expired in March of this year, making his continued stay in the country illegal.
Following the initial arrest of Prince, the police team expanded their investigation. Under the leadership of DCP (central) Rohit Rajbir Singh, the police conducted follow-up raids in the Nihal Vihar and Nilothi areas of Delhi to track down his accomplices.
These subsequent raids led to the arrest of two more associates. The second suspect was identified as Efosa Mikel Atohan, a 24-year-old resident of Uttam Nagar. Police verification showed that Atohan, a Nigerian national, had arrived in India in 2019 on a student visa. His student visa expired in 2023, after which he allegedly continued to stay in the country illegally.
The third individual arrested was 36-year-old Justin Chukuwa, a resident of Nilothi. According to DCP Singh, Chukuwa has been staying in India since birth. His father is a Nigerian national, while his mother is an Indian citizen.
