Teen Held in Northeast Delhi's Welcome for Flashing Illegal Firearm in Instagram Video

Delhi Police have apprehended a 17-year-old youth from northeast Delhi's Welcome area after he allegedly displayed an illegal firearm in a video shared on social media, officials said on Thursday.

According to police officials, the action was taken after a video of the teenager showing an illegal firearm circulated widely on Instagram. Acting on the information, a police team conducted a raid on Wednesday and took the minor into custody.

During a search following the apprehension, police recovered and seized a countrymade pistol from the teenager's possession.

A case was formally registered in connection with the incident on August 26 under Section 25 of the Arms Act. Officials stated that further investigation into the matter is currently underway.
