Teen Drowns In Madanpur Khadar Drain Returning From Noida, Body Found In Agra Canal

The body of 18-year-old Ankit was recovered from the Agra canal on Sunday, nearly 40 hours after he accidentally slipped into the Priyanka Camp Nala in the Madanpur Khadar area near Sarita Vihar while returning from Noida.

Emergency services launched a search and rescue operation on Friday night after police received two PCR calls at around 8:45 pm from Ankit’s friend, who was returning from Noida with him when the accident happened.

The search operation was conducted by police with assistance from the District Disaster Management Authority and the Delhi Fire Service. However, rescue efforts were severely hindered by incessant rainfall and a strong flow of water through the drain.

After an extensive search, authorities located and recovered the body from the Agra canal. Police stated that no foul play was found in connection with the incident.

An autopsy was conducted on the body before it was handed over to Ankit's family.
