Shop Employee Among Four Held for Rs 3.5 Lakh Robbery Near Sherpur Chowk

Delhi Police have arrested three men, including a shop employee, and apprehended a 17-year-old minor in connection with a staged gunpoint robbery of Rs 3.5 lakh near Sherpur Chowk in northeast Delhi.

The incident was reported on August 2 when the victim, Ravi Singh Jadon, approached the authorities. Jadon told the police that he was travelling on his motorcycle alongside his shop employee, identified as 23-year-old Mohit, carrying Rs 3.5 lakh in cash and two mobile phones in a bag. While they were in transit, two masked men riding a scooter intercepted them, robbed them at gunpoint, and fled the scene.

Following the complaint, a case was officially registered at the Dayalpur police station, and an investigation was launched into the armed robbery.

During the probe, the police uncovered that what appeared to be an armed robbery was an alleged inside job orchestrated by Mohit. The police identified the four accused as Mohit, 23, Aazan, 19, Shehzad, 20, and the 17-year-old juvenile.

Interrogations revealed that Mohit shared the victims' live location with his accomplices and signaled the specific cash bag through a physical gesture. A separate motorcycle was used to tail the victims and relay continuous information about their movements to the robbers on the scooter prior to the interception.

Police have recovered Rs 15,000 of the stolen cash and seized the motorcycle allegedly used in the commission of the crime.
