Shehzad Poonawalla Slams CJP Founder Over Picks for Best Chief Ministers
NEW DELHI — Former BJP national spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla has criticised the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) and its founder Abhijeet Dipke after Dipke named Arvind Kejriwal, MK Stalin, and Pinarayi Vijayan as his choices for India's best chief ministers.
In a post and video shared on X, Poonawalla labelled the CJP a "bunch of fraudiyaas" and questioned why the leaders highlighted by the group had faced rejection from voters, arguing that Dipke's praise did not match the governance records of the three chief ministers.
Dipke had singled out Kejriwal for his work in education and healthcare, Stalin for his handling of Tamil Nadu's economy, and Vijayan for strengthening Kerala's healthcare model. Poonawalla disputed each of these assessments.
Targeting Kejriwal's record in Delhi, Poonawalla referenced the AAP administration's earlier commitment to establish 500 new schools. "Paathshaala ke badle 800 nayi madhushala khol di," Poonawalla said, alleging that the Delhi government opened liquor shops instead of educational institutions. He also pointed to the Delhi liquor policy case and noted the arrests of former Delhi ministers in connection with the investigation.
Regarding Stalin's economic management, Poonawalla claimed that Tamil Nadu's debt expanded from Rs 4.86 lakh crore in 2021 to Rs 9.52 lakh crore over five years. He further alleged that the administration's focus remained on family interests rather than the economic growth of the state.
Poonawalla also contested Dipke's commendation of Vijayan's healthcare system by comparing Covid-19 mortality figures between Kerala and Uttar Pradesh. He stated that Kerala, despite its significantly smaller population, registered around 71,000 deaths during the second wave, whereas Uttar Pradesh recorded approximately 23,700 deaths.
In the video, Poonawalla said, "Listen to these 3 frauds of CJP. One was exposed in Latur, another was driven away from Rajasthan, and we have all seen the Delhi shenanigans of the 3rd."
Poonawalla suggested that the word "Janta" should be removed from CJP's name, arguing that the public had made different electoral decisions regarding the leaders in question.
