Security Tightened Near India Gate and Jantar Mantar Ahead of Unapproved CJP March
Delhi Police has tightened security measures across the New Delhi district, deploying additional personnel and setting up barricades near Jantar Mantar and India Gate ahead of a planned protest march by the Cockroach Janta Party scheduled for September 5.
According to police sources, the Cockroach Janta Party announced plans to start the demonstration from India Gate and culminate at the Police Headquarters on Jai Singh Marg near Jantar Mantar.
However, authorities confirmed that the march does not have official clearance. Delhi Police has not granted permission for the demonstration, with a police source noting that officials have not received any formal application or permission letter from the Cockroach Janta Party seeking approval to hold the event.
Precautionary arrangements have been stepped up around Jantar Mantar, a designated protest site located close to multiple key government offices. Additional police personnel have been stationed in the area, and barricades have been erected to manage movement.
The heightened security comes as the proposed demonstration coincides with broader security protocols being enforced across the capital ahead of the BRICS Summit. Security arrangements have been intensified not only across the New Delhi district but also throughout parts of central Delhi to maintain order.
