Schoolteacher Killed in Truck Collision on Kanjhawala Road in Rohini

A 46-year-old schoolteacher riding pillion on a bike taxi was killed on Thursday morning when the two-wheeler collided with a truck on Kanjhawala Road in Rohini.
The deceased has been identified by the police as Priyanka, a resident of Rama Vihar. She was employed as a teacher at the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) school situated in K-Block, Mangolpuri. The fatal accident occurred while she was on her way to the school to attend to her duties.
According to police officials, the department received a Police Control Room (PCR) call reporting the collision on Thursday morning. A police team was immediately dispatched to the location. Upon reaching the spot on Kanjhawala Road, the officers found a truck loaded with sand stationed on the road.
The responding officers discovered the body of the schoolteacher lying dead under the left rear wheel of the sand-loaded truck. The driver of the offending truck had already fled the scene before the police team arrived at the spot.
Following the initial assessment, the body of the deceased woman was shifted to the Sanjay Gandhi Memorial Hospital. A senior police officer stated that the body was preserved in the hospital's mortuary after the completion of the required medico-legal formalities.
In connection with the accident, the police have registered a First Information Report (FIR). The case has been registered under Sections 281, which pertains to rash or negligent driving, and 106, which relates to causing death by negligence, of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
An active police investigation into the fatal collision is currently underway. A senior police officer confirmed that the police department has established contact with the owner of the offending truck. Law enforcement authorities are currently working to trace and arrest the absconding truck driver who fled the scene of the accident.
