Rajiv Shamlal Soni’s Romantic Drama Dil Deewana Ho Gaya Released

Director and writer Rajiv Shamlal Soni’s Hindi romantic drama film "Dil Deewana Ho Gaya" was released in theatres on July 31, 2026. Produced by Ishpaul Singh Chawla, the two-hour and 16-minute UA-certified feature stars Bhanuj Sood, Kajal Chauhan, and Shubhkaran Bhopal in central roles, alongside veteran actor Raju Kher in the supporting cast.

The plot revolves around three college friends—Rahul, Naina, and Raj—whose friendship is tested when love complicates their lives. Raj, portrayed by Shubhkaran Bhopal, and Naina, played by Kajal Chauhan, are deeply in love and envision a future together. Bhanuj Sood plays Rahul, who quietly harbours feelings for Naina but never finds the courage to confess them. As changing circumstances force love, friendship, and responsibility to collide, the trio is caught in emotional dilemmas leading to heartbreak, tough choices, and a journey of self-discovery.

The film received a critic rating of 1.5 out of 5 stars in a review by Archika Khurana. The critique noted that while romantic dramas generally thrive on emotional depth, engaging characters, and believable conflicts, this film relies heavily on an outdated storytelling formula. The screenplay takes the safest route without offering fresh perspectives, resulting in uneven pacing and scenes that stretch longer than necessary.

Among the cast, Bhanuj Sood’s performance as Rahul was highlighted as the most engaging presence, portraying the emotional conflict of his character with reasonable conviction and a layered arc. Kajal Chauhan delivered a decent performance as Naina within the limits of the material, while Shubhkaran Bhopal was adequate as Raj. Raju Kher and the supporting cast offered dependable support throughout the film.

Technically, the film remains functional but lacks contemporary polish. The dialogues were described as dated and overly simplistic, and the music blends into the narrative without creating memorable moments. Producer Ishpaul Singh Chawla noted in related coverage that songs should stay with audiences. The official two-minute and 31-second trailer was released 17 days prior to the film's premiere.
