Police Probe Greater Noida Property Dispute in Delhi Realtor Yuvraj Manchanda Murder Case
Delhi Police are investigating a string of financial disputes, including a ₹4 crore property conflict in Greater Noida, following the arrest of two former colleagues in connection with the alleged murder of realtor Yuvraj Singh Manchanda. The suspects, identified as Anya Vats and Sanyam Sachdeva, had worked with Manchanda at a real estate firm before Vats was removed over alleged financial irregularities.
Investigators are examining whether Manchanda's knowledge of the suspects' alleged illicit financial activities led to his killing. Among the primary transactions under review is a dispute over a Greater Noida property valued at approximately ₹4 crore involving Vats, Sachdeva, and Sachdeva's estranged wife, who had previously filed a domestic violence complaint. Additionally, Vats told investigators she had loaned Manchanda around ₹1 crore that was never returned, a claim police are currently verifying.
According to investigators, Manchanda went missing on Sunday, September 6, when an SUV allegedly used to transport his body was brought to Vats' residential society. CCTV footage showed that the vehicle was moved to a nearby facility the following day, where it remained until Tuesday, September 8. The accused then allegedly transported Manchanda's body to Gurugram and dumped it in a drain, where it was recovered on Thursday, September 10.
The victim's family did not approach authorities until September 11 because the suspects had taken Manchanda's mobile phone and continued sending text messages to them for two days. On September 16, Delhi Police traced both Vats and Sachdeva to Uttarakhand and arrested them. A post-mortem examination of the victim was conducted by the Gurugram police.
Police said Vats was also involved in three other criminal cases between 2024 and 2026, though she had not been arrested in connection with them. One scrutinised case, registered at Parliament Street police station in August, involved an NBFC executive who was allegedly duped out of over ₹1.25 crore by Vats and Sachdeva using fake Union Home Ministry and Enforcement Directorate notices, with Vats subsequently demanding another ₹26 crore.
A Delhi court has issued a notice to the city police on a plea seeking court monitoring of the investigation into Manchanda's death. The court also directed the Gurugram Police Commissioner to preserve and produce all records and personal belongings connected to the recovery and cremation of Manchanda's body.
