PM Modi Announces AI Training for 1 Crore Youth in Independence Day Address at Red Fort

Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced on Saturday that one crore youth across the country will be trained in artificial intelligence through dedicated skilling courses, alongside the provision of free online coaching for students preparing for competitive examinations. Addressing the nation from the Red Fort in New Delhi on the occasion of the 80th Independence Day, the Prime Minister highlighted technology and innovation as core pillars of the vision for a 'Viksit Bharat'.

During his address, Prime Minister Modi referred to the India AI Impact Summit held in February and stated that the central government aims to expand opportunities for young people to acquire artificial intelligence skills. The initiative is intended to equip students and job seekers with modern technological competencies while broadening access to competitive examination resources.

In addition to technological initiatives, the Prime Minister announced the launch of a nationwide sports talent hunt. The program will focus on identifying and nurturing young athletic talent between the ages of 5 and 15 across both rural villages and urban cities.

Addressing national security and crisis management, Prime Minister Modi outlined reforms aimed at modernizing training and strengthening institutional capabilities to tackle emerging security challenges. He detailed plans to build a large, modern civil defence volunteer force prepared to handle contemporary emergencies.

"Today, I announce from the Red Fort that we will establish a vibrant Civil Defence network in the coming days," Prime Minister Modi said. He added that volunteers within the proposed network will be trained in modern systems and protective measures designed to support and safeguard citizens during times of crisis.
