Over 4.8 Million Delhi Voter Enumeration Forms Await Digitisation Ahead of Deadline

Around 34% of voter enumeration forms across Delhi were yet to be digitised just two days ahead of the deadline for the enumeration phase of the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls, according to official data released by the Chief Electoral Officer.

As of 8 pm on August 15, election authorities had digitised 9,698,217 out of the 14,510,299 enumeration forms distributed across the Capital. This left 4,812,082 forms, or roughly 33.16%, pending digitisation before the phase concludes on August 17.

According to figures from the Chief Electoral Officer's office, enumeration forms were distributed to 100% of electors across all 13 districts in the city. However, the progress of digitisation varied substantially from one district to another.

The Southeast area of Delhi lagged furthest behind, having digitised only 55.63% of its 1,557,000 distributed forms, leaving more than 690,000 forms pending in the system. Progress in other central parts of the city remained similarly slow. New Delhi recorded a digitisation rate of 60.64%, while South Delhi and Central Delhi registered 60.80% and 61.78% completion, respectively.

In contrast, districts in the northern and western parts of the city reported higher completion figures. North Delhi recorded the highest pace in the Capital, completing 75.64% of its digitisation. West Delhi followed closely at 73.06%, while Southwest Delhi logged a completion rate of 72.93%.

The ongoing exercise is part of Phase III of the Special Intensive Revision, with the enumeration window running from June 30 to August 17. The Chief Electoral Officer stated that the revision is designed to ensure that every eligible citizen is enrolled in the electoral list while preventing the addition of ineligible individuals.

With more than 4.8 million records still awaiting entry, election officials across the city face a heavy administrative workload in the concluding stretch of the enumeration drive.
