Noida Techie Murdered in Nihal Vihar by In-Laws After Domestic Dispute

Four people, including the wife and two brothers-in-law of a software engineer, have been arrested for allegedly assaulting and strangling him to death at his house in Delhi's Nihal Vihar following a domestic dispute over applying medicine to their child.
The victim, 31-year-old Vinay Gupta, worked as a techie at Adobe in Noida. Police identified the arrested suspects as his wife Rekha Gupta, 30, her brothers Raju Jindal, 35, and Ved Prakash Jindal, 33, and her sister-in-law Poonam, 30. Raju is a chartered accountant, while Ved Prakash is a businessman.
According to the police, the couple had been married for three and a half years and had four-month-old twins, a boy and a girl. Matrimonial disputes had been ongoing between the couple prior to the fatal incident.
The victim's sister, Kirti, stated that the altercation began when Rekha refused to apply medicine to blisters on one of the children and told Vinay to do it instead. Following the dispute, Rekha left the house and returned about 10 minutes later accompanied by her brothers and other family members.
Kirti alleged that a group of at least six people arrived and attacked Vinay, along with his mother and father. The assailants allegedly sat on Vinay's chest, beat him, and strangled him. She also noted that Vinay's brothers-in-law had threatened him during past disputes.
Vinay's father, Prem Chand, said he initially thought the relatives had arrived to talk peacefully and offered them water upstairs. However, they launched an assault as soon as Vinay appeared. During the scuffle, Prem Chand was pushed, resulting in a suspected fractured thumb. Vinay's mother also attempted to intervene, but the attackers pushed her away as well.
CCTV footage from the area showed a car arriving at the residence carrying the alleged attackers. Subsequent footage captured an injured person being brought out of the residence and seated on a chair. Vinay was rushed to a nearby hospital, where medical staff declared him brought dead.
