Mukherjee Nagar Teacher Arrested In Lawrence Bishnoi Gang Rs 10 Crore Extortion Case

The Delhi Police's Special Cell has arrested a 35-year-old mathematics teacher in Mukherjee Nagar for allegedly conducting surveillance on a local businessman's office to assist the Hari Boxer-Lawrence Bishnoi gang in a Rs 10 crore extortion attempt. The accused, Amit Bishnoi, who also goes by the alias Rudra Pratap Singh, was apprehended following a threat call made to the businessman on June 15, as reported by police officials on Thursday.

Amit Bishnoi is a BTech graduate and a native of Hisar in Haryana. According to the police, he had been working as a mathematics teacher at various coaching centres in the Mukherjee Nagar area since 2018.

Investigators revealed that Singh allegedly conducted a reconnaissance of the victim's office premises. During this surveillance, he recorded a video of the office and shared the footage with gangster Hari Boxer, an associate of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. The gang subsequently used this video to prove they had detailed information about the businessman's daily operations.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Special Cell) Praveen Kumar Tripathi stated that the victim, who is a resident of Mukherjee Nagar, received a social media call from an international number on June 15. The caller identified himself as Hari Boxer and demanded Rs 10 crore. He threatened to kill the businessman and his children if the extortion money was not paid within a week.

Following the initial call, the gangster continued to contact the victim using multiple foreign numbers. To demonstrate the gang's reach and intimidate the victim further, Hari Boxer shared the video of the office that Singh had recorded.

The arrest by the Delhi Police Special Cell has exposed the involvement of an educated professional in organized crime and successfully halted the Rs 10 crore extortion attempt against the local businessman.
