Minor Girl's Body Found in Suitcase in Delhi's Burari, Relative Arrested

The body of a minor girl was recovered from inside a suitcase in the Ajit Vihar area of Burari in Delhi, police said on Monday, following the arrest of a relative accused of the previously unreported killing.

According to police officials, the murder had gone unreported until the Special Staff of the Outernorth district received a secret tip-off regarding the crime. Acting on the intelligence, a police team laid a trap and apprehended the suspect.

During sustained interrogation, the accused allegedly confessed to his involvement in the murder. He subsequently led the police team to a location in Ajit Vihar in Burari, where the minor's body had been concealed inside a suitcase.

The body was recovered at the instance of the accused and has been sent for necessary legal proceedings, officials confirmed.

The case has since been handed over to the Burari police station, where a First Information Report (FIR) is being registered and further investigation is underway.

Police officers stated that they are probing the circumstances leading to the girl's death and the motive behind the murder. Investigators are also working to establish the exact sequence of events surrounding the incident.

Forensic and other evidence collected from the spot are currently being examined by investigators. The accused remains in police custody and is being questioned to determine the precise circumstances in which the minor was killed and concealed.

Authorities noted that further action will be taken based on the evidence gathered throughout the ongoing probe.
