Manipur Man Arrested in Kotla Mubarakpur for Delhi Vehicle Thefts, Five Two-Wheelers Found

Delhi Police have arrested a 31-year-old man from Manipur in Kotla Mubarakpur in connection with a series of vehicle thefts across the national capital, recovering five stolen two-wheelers.

The accused, identified as Zamir Khan, is a resident of Thoubal district in Manipur. According to police, Khan made multiple trips from Manipur to Delhi specifically to target motorcycles and scooters parked in various neighbourhoods across the city.

Following a string of vehicle theft complaints, investigators began tracking Khan's movements by scanning surveillance footage from across Delhi. "During the investigation, CCTV footage from different locations was analysed, and the movements of the suspect were tracked," said Deputy Commissioner of Police (West) Hareshwar V Swami.

Acting on a specific tip-off, a police team tracked Khan down and apprehended him in Kotla Mubarakpur. An accomplice, who allegedly arranged the logistics of moving the stolen vehicles from Delhi to Manipur and other states, remains absconding.

During interrogation, Khan allegedly confessed to his involvement in the thefts. Based on disclosures made during his questioning, police recovered five hidden vehicles across Delhi, consisting of three scooters and two motorcycles.

The recovered vehicles have been linked to active theft cases registered across multiple jurisdictions, including the Tilak Nagar, Hari Nagar, Nangloi, Janakpuri, and DBG Road police stations.

Investigators are currently probing the entire interstate network used to transport stolen two-wheelers out of Delhi. The police are also examining Khan's potential involvement in additional vehicle theft cases and are continuing efforts to locate and arrest the remaining members of the racket.
