Man, Associate Arrested for Murdering Schizophrenic Son in Kalindi Kunj

In southeast Delhi's Kalindi Kunj, police have arrested a 64-year-old man and his associate for allegedly murdering the man's 38-year-old schizophrenic son following repeated family disputes, officials confirmed on Saturday.
The victim, identified as Gul Hasan, was allegedly killed by his father, Talukdar Ansari (64), and an associate, Md Wasim alias Akram (49). Police said the two men lured Hasan to an abandoned container situated around 500 metres from the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway under the pretext of taking him to a doctor.
Information regarding the discovery of a body was received by police around 7:15 pm on August 23. Upon arriving at the scene, police teams found Hasan's body inside the container with visible trauma to his head. A concrete block bearing blood stains was found nearby, and a preliminary examination indicated an injury on the left temporal region of the head, prompting officials to register a murder case.
Investigators analysed CCTV footage from the crime scene and surrounding areas to map the victim's movements. The footage showed Hasan walking toward the secluded container alongside two men. While all three were seen heading toward the site, Hasan did not emerge, police said.
Police tracked the two suspects to a stitching factory in Govindpuri, where Ansari and Wasim were apprehended.
During interrogation, police learned that Hasan suffered from schizophrenia, a condition that led to frequent altercations with his parents and other relatives. Fed up with the constant quarrels, Ansari allegedly decided to kill his son with Wasim's assistance.
According to police, once they reached the abandoned container, Wasim allegedly struck Hasan on the head with a stone while Ansari also assaulted him. The two then strangulated Hasan with a rope made of cloth pieces and left his body inside the container.
Police have recovered the concrete block used in the attack, the blood-stained clothes worn by the accused, and the cotton cloth rope used for strangulation. Further investigation is underway to corroborate the sequence of events through forensic and technical evidence.
