LG TS Sandhu pitches Dwarka as investment hub to boost jobs and sustainable growth

On Friday, Lieutenant Governor TS Sandhu chaired a session with leading industry representatives in Dwarka, New Delhi, to pitch the sub-city as a major economic, commercial, and investment hub. The meeting focused on introducing policy and infrastructure interventions designed to improve the ease of doing business, facilitate new investments, and establish the area as a preferred destination for investors.

Addressing representatives from the real estate, infrastructure, hospitality, and healthcare sectors, Lieutenant Governor Sandhu emphasized that industrial development in Dwarka must remain clean, sustainable, and non-polluting. He noted that the primary focus of development should be on promoting labour-intensive industries to ensure that the sub-city's economic growth directly benefits the local Delhi workforce.

During the session, Sandhu described Dwarka as one of Asia's largest planned sub-cities. He stated that its proximity to the Indira Gandhi International Airport, combined with its strong connectivity and evolving urban infrastructure, positions the sub-city well to attract investments from multiple key sectors. These sectors include commerce, hospitality, healthcare, education, and technology.

The session aimed to create large-scale and sustainable employment opportunities for local workers while strengthening Dwarka's overall emergence as a major commercial center.
