L-G Taranjit Singh Sandhu Inaugurates Aadhaar Seva Kendra in Vikaspuri

Lieutenant Governor Taranjit Singh Sandhu inaugurated a new Aadhaar Seva Kendra in the Vikaspuri area of Delhi on June 16, 2026, highlighting the national capital's crucial role in driving efficient and accessible digital governance.
Delhi Transport Minister Pankaj Singh also attended the inauguration event alongside the Lieutenant Governor.
Speaking at the launch, Lieutenant Governor Sandhu emphasized that Delhi has an important role to play in demonstrating how digital governance can be made efficient, inclusive, and accessible to all citizens.
Sandhu noted that public expectations for transparency and efficiency in governance will continue to rise among Delhi residents. He stated that all public institutions must continuously adapt to meet these growing demands.
According to the L-G, technology-driven reforms have already significantly improved the delivery of public services by making governance more transparent and easier to access.
During the event, Sandhu praised Aadhaar as one of the foundational pillars of India's Digital Public Infrastructure. He observed that the platform successfully facilitates direct benefit transfers, strengthens financial inclusion, reduces leakages, and simplifies daily interactions between citizens and government institutions.
