Kejriwal launches Ram temple donation signature campaign at Rohini's Japanese Park

On Sunday, July 12, 2026, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal launched a public signature campaign at Japanese Park in Rohini, New Delhi, amid an escalating political row over Ram temple donations. The campaign launch coincided with a statement from Ram Temple Construction Committee Chairman Nripendra Mishra, who clarified that the government has no role in the temple trust's operations.

Kejriwal addressed a crowd at Japanese Park while participating in a Sunderkand Path event. During his address, the AAP chief appealed to citizens to sign a letter addressed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The letter demands strict action regarding the alleged theft of donations, with Kejriwal alleging that those responsible for the financial irregularities are being shielded from accountability.

The signature campaign by the Aam Aadmi Party follows similar protests and campaigns launched by other opposition groups, including the Congress and Shiv Sena (UBT). The opposition parties have demanded greater accountability and transparency concerning the alleged financial mismanagement and theft of donations intended for the temple.

The controversy centers around alleged irregularities, including missing CCTV keys, issues related to hundis, and ignored standard operating procedures (SOPs) that have emerged from a Special Investigation Team (SIT) probe into the Ayodhya Ram temple donations fraud.

In response to the opposition's demands, Ram Temple Construction Committee Chairman Nripendra Mishra stated on Sunday that there will be "no government interference" in the functioning of the Ram temple trust or its chief executive officer. The clarification aimed to address the growing public debate and political row surrounding the financial governance of the trust.

The developments on Sunday have intensified the political dispute regarding the transparency of the Ram temple's financial management, drawing sharp reactions from multiple political factions across the country.
