Kangana Ranaut Hits Out at Bollywood Personalities Over Public Criticism

BJP MP and actor Kangana Ranaut has hit out at several Bollywood personalities, including Ashutosh Rana, Taapsee Pannu, and Sonu Sood, accusing them of repeatedly making remarks against her to gain media attention.

Speaking to ANI in New Delhi, Ranaut stated that she would not pay heed to criticism from people who have achieved "not even 1%" of her success. She described her critics as failed and irrelevant individuals attempting to use her name to remain in the public eye.

Ranaut alleged that Ashutosh Rana had claimed she barks like a dog, while Sonu Sood had also targeted her. She further accused Rakhi Sawant of making remarks about her character and stated that Taapsee Pannu had insulted her parents, upbringing, and background during public discussions.

The latest remarks follow a series of public exchanges sparked by Ranaut's comments on youth demonstrations at Jantar Mantar in July. At the time, Ranaut had criticised the language used by young protesters, describing some of them as "Generation Gutter" and objecting to abusive language directed at Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his mother.

Her statements drew criticism from several public figures. Sonu Sood noted that it was important to think carefully before speaking, while Rakhi Sawant responded on Instagram, calling Ranaut a "gutter mouth" and "witch."

Ranaut also addressed her ongoing dispute with Taapsee Pannu, which originated in 2019-20 after Ranaut's sister, Rangoli Chandel, accused Pannu of copying Kangana and labelled her a "sasti copy." The disagreement resurfaced after Pannu stated in an interview that she had never met Ranaut and noted that their differences stemmed from upbringing and differing perspectives. Ranaut subsequently accused Pannu of mocking her background, leading Pannu to share a cryptic post reading "Hence, proved."

In addition, Ranaut targeted yoga guru Baba Ramdev, stating that his remarks about women had crossed boundaries of decency. The two had entered a public dispute after Ramdev questioned her past while criticising her "gutter generation" description of the youth. Ranaut responded by telling Ramdev not to daydream about her youth or bedroom, stating he had no right to give her character lessons.
