Jamia Millia Islamia Student Sabeera Haris Wins Perazzi Cup in Italy
Sabeera Haris, a first-year BBA student at Jamia Millia Islamia in Delhi and an international shooter, has secured the top position in the Senior Women’s category at the Perazzi Cup, an international shotgun shooting competition held in Lonato, Italy.
Haris scored 187 out of 200 points during the tournament, which took place from July 23 to July 26. She trained and competed under the guidance of coach and mentor Rayyan Rizvi, who is also a Jamia Millia Islamia alumnus and an international shooting player.
Haris currently holds the top national ranking in India within the Junior category. Over her sporting career, she has represented India at multiple World Championships and international tournaments.
Her international record includes winning the Individual Gold Medal and the title of Asian Junior Champion at the Asian Shooting Championship in Shymkent, Kazakhstan, in September 2025. She has also claimed Bronze Medals at international competitions in Porpetto, Italy, in 2024, in Peru in 2024, and at the Senior World Championships in Cyprus in 2025. In 2022, she secured a Silver Medal in Germany.
In previous international outings, Haris competed at the Junior World Cup in Cairo, Egypt, finishing in ninth place with a score of 106 out of 125 after narrowly missing out on the final round through a shoot-off. She registered another ninth-place finish at the World Championships in Suhl, Germany, posting a score of 114 out of 125 and again falling short of the final following a shoot-off.
