Ilesha Singh Performs Kuchipudi Rangapravesham at Kamani Auditorium
Fifteen-year-old Ilesha Singh made her formal debut as a solo Kuchipudi performer at her Rangapravesham held at Kamani Auditorium in Delhi.
The daughter of Jayant Chaudhary and Charu Singh brought traditional classical dance principles to life on stage. Her debut recital was staged to the accompaniment of live vocals alongside the rhythmic beats of cymbals and mridangam.
A video message from Kuchipudi exponent Raja Reddy was played during the recital, quoting the Natya Krama Shloka: "Where the hands are, the eyes follow; where the eyes go, the mind follows; where the mind is, feeling evolves; and where feeling evolves, rasa flows."
Reflecting on Ilesha's artistic journey, Kuchipudi exponent Kaushalya Reddy noted the dancer's growth over the years. "I still remember Ilesha was a baby when she started tagging along with her sister Sahira to the dance classes. Now, she has had her rangapravesham," Kaushalya Reddy said.
The event at the auditorium witnessed the attendance of numerous dignitaries and guests across public life. Among those present were Radha Reddy, Raja Reddy, and Kaushalya Reddy, along with Jyotiraditya M Scindia and Priyadarshini Raje Scindia, and Anurag Thakur and Sheffali Thakur.
Other attendees who gathered to witness the performance included Mallika Nadda, Devi Cherian, Dilip Cherian, Sanjay Passi, Neelam Pratap Rudy with Mahima Kumari Mewar, Fatima and Renu Hussain, as well as Rina Dhaka and Charu Parashar.
