IGDTUW Hands Over 75 Surveillance Drones to Delhi Police

The Indira Gandhi Delhi Technical University for Women (IGDTUW) in Delhi has developed and handed over 75 surveillance drones to the Delhi Police under the ‘Netra-Naari-Netritva’ initiative, according to a statement from the Chief Minister’s Office.

Lieutenant-Governor Taranjit Singh Sandhu and Chief Minister Rekha Gupta attended the valedictory ceremony of the ‘Prabodhan’ Induction Programme-2026 at the university campus on Thursday. During the event, the dignitaries also inaugurated a new lecture hall complex equipped with modern facilities.

Alongside the drone handover, the university highlighted its recent placement performance. According to the Chief Minister’s Office, students at IGDTUW secured more than 1,000 placement offers during the recent placement season, with the highest compensation package reaching ₹1 crore.

In an official statement, the Chief Minister’s Office noted that these achievements reflect the growing confidence and capabilities of women students in the national capital.
