Hyundai India Couture Week 2026 to open in Hyderabad at Falaknuma Palace

The Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI) has announced that the Hyundai India Couture Week (HICW) 2026 will travel outside Delhi for the first time in its history. The landmark event is scheduled to open with an inaugural showcase at the iconic Falaknuma Palace in Hyderabad on July 23, 2026.

Organised in association with Nexxus New York, this expansion represents a significant shift for the prominent fashion week, which has traditionally been hosted in Delhi. The choice of the historic Hyderabad venue marks a new chapter for the showcase of Indian couture.

Acclaimed designer Anamika Khanna has been selected to present the opening collection of the event. Her upcoming collection is described as a poetic reimagining of a lost civilisation, featuring both womenswear and menswear. Through the use of archetypal figures, the collection is designed to explore the complex relationship between memory, craftsmanship, and identity. It also aims to celebrate the women whose artistry has successfully preserved stories across multiple generations.

Beyond the traditional garments, the inaugural showcase will highlight Hyundai’s core design philosophy, which focuses on blending modern innovation with classic craftsmanship. As part of this integration, Hyundai's IONIQ 5 vehicle will be featured directly within the presentation. The inclusion of the vehicle is intended to bring together the concepts of mobility, technology, and high couture.

Tarun Garg, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Hyundai Motor India Ltd., commented on the collaboration and the upcoming event. Garg stated that the company believes innovation and design have the power to inspire, connect, and shape the future.

According to Garg, the continued association with the FDCI for the couture week reflects Hyundai's ongoing commitment to celebrating creativity in all of its diverse forms. He added that the special showcase by Khanna brings together precision, artistry, and innovation, which are values that remain integral to everything the automotive company does.
