Haryana Waives 100% Motor Vehicle Tax On Clean Trucks And Buses In NCR Districts

The Haryana government has officially waived 100 per cent of the motor vehicle tax on clean transport trucks and buses operating within the National Capital Region (NCR) districts of the state. The policy update was confirmed on Friday, June 26, 2026.

According to the guidelines of the scheme, transport owners who wish to avail of this tax benefit must meet specific requirements. The applicant must own a transport truck or a transport bus that is registered within one of Haryana's NCR districts.

Furthermore, the vehicle that is being replaced under the clean energy scheme must comply with BS-IV or older emission standards. By replacing these older, compliant vehicles with clean alternatives, owners can receive the full 100 per cent waiver on their motor vehicle tax.

The scheme seeks to address emission levels in the NCR by targeting older transport vehicles. Truck and bus owners in the designated Haryana NCR districts who currently operate BS-IV or older vehicles are eligible to apply for the tax waiver when upgrading to cleaner models.
