Gurgaon techie arrested after fatal Thar hit and run on Rajokri Flyover

A 30-year-old software tester residing in Gurgaon has been arrested by the police following a fatal hit-and-run accident that killed a 34-year-old biker on the Rajokri Flyover in Southwest Delhi. The incident occurred on Thursday morning at around 6:30 AM while the driver was test-driving a Mahindra Thar from Gurgaon to the Dwarka Expressway.
The victim, identified as Sarthak Mattoo, lost his life in the collision. The tragedy occurred just two days before Mattoo's birthday, according to the police.
The vehicle involved in the crash was a Karnataka-registered Mahindra Thar belonging to a private company based in Bengaluru. The SUV had been leased to Sagar Saha, a native of Bihar who works for the company and is posted in Bengaluru.
According to Saha's statement to the police, his friend Apurv Singh was behind the wheel at the time of the accident. Singh was test-driving the Thar from Gurgaon to the Dwarka Expressway and back. Saha was sitting in the front passenger seat next to Singh when the vehicle struck Mattoo.
Singh, a software tester originally from Ghaziabad who currently lives in Gurgaon, was subsequently traced and apprehended by the Delhi Police. Investigators have stated that it is currently unclear whether Singh was intoxicated at the time of the crash. His blood samples have been collected and sent for forensic testing to determine if alcohol was a factor.
Both Saha and Singh joined the police investigation after authorities obtained the vehicle's ownership details and contacted them. A senior police officer stated that there was no information to suggest the men were planning to flee or attempting to conceal evidence. Singh remains under investigation following his arrest.
