FSSAI Issues Over 150 Notices to Nestle, PepsiCo and Other Brands Over False Claims

The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has issued more than 150 notices to food companies, including prominent brands such as Nestle India, PepsiCo, and Coca-Cola India, over misleading advertisements, false claims, and non-compliance with labelling regulations, the regulator announced in New Delhi on Saturday.
According to the food safety regulator, the enforcement measures were carried out over recent months against various food business operators following serious violations of food safety laws and statutory standards.
The FSSAI detailed a list of major domestic and multinational brands facing regulatory action. The companies named include Nestle India, PepsiCo, Abbott India Ltd, Red Bull India, Danone India, Monster Energy India Pvt Ltd, Hell Energy Pvt Ltd, Mondelez India, Coca-Cola India, Diageo, Pernod Ricard, Ferrero India, and Kenvue Inc.
The regulatory crackdown has also extended to manufacturers of energy drinks and alcoholic beverages. In addition to issuing notices, the FSSAI confirmed that it has seized products from several companies found to be operating in violation of food safety rules.
Online marketplaces have faced scrutiny during the enforcement drive as well. The regulator stated that as many as 12 notices have been issued to leading e-commerce platforms Amazon and Flipkart over regulatory non-compliance.
