Four siblings arrested in Jahangirpuri drug bust with Rs 2 crore in assets seized

The Delhi Police have arrested four siblings, including three sisters, and dismantled an illegal psychotropic drug supply network operating out of Jahangirpuri in Northwest Delhi. During the operation, law enforcement authorities seized drugs and assets valued at Rs 2 crore, which included cash, jewellery, and 11 flats.

The police action was led by Deputy Commissioner of Police (Northwest) Akanksha Yadav. According to the police, the seized assets associated with the family-run syndicate include cash and jewellery worth over Rs 63 lakh, 11 flats estimated to be worth more than Rs 1.5 crore, and a recently purchased two-wheeler. The recovered drugs are estimated to be worth over Rs 7 lakh in the international market.

The crackdown began after the Delhi Police received a specific tip-off regarding one of the siblings, 28-year-old Paro. The information indicated that Paro, along with her sisters and other associates, was actively involved in the illegal storage and supply of psychotropic tablets and intoxicating injections. These operations were reportedly being run from multiple premises in D-Block, Jahangirpuri.

Acting on this tip-off, the police team conducted their first raid near D-Block. During this initial operation, officers nabbed Paro and her younger sister, 25-year-old Usha.

Following their arrest, the two women disclosed to the police that they were involved in the illegal sale of intoxicating injections and psychotropic tablets from a house in the local neighborhood.

Based on the information revealed by Paro and Usha, the police conducted a follow-up raid at the specified house. There, officers apprehended their elder sister, 35-year-old Kanta.

During the search of the premises, police found Kanta in possession of a significant stash of illicit medical supplies. This included 1,300 prescription tablets containing buprenorphine and naloxone, 310 antihistamine injections, and 652 syringe needles. Officers also recovered approximately Rs 1.3 lakh in cash from the house during this raid.

In total, four siblings have been taken into custody as police continue to investigate the full extent of the drug supply network.
