Four Arrested in Delhi for Murder of 31-Year-Old Techie Vinay Gupta

Delhi Police have arrested four people, including the wife of 31-year-old techie Vinay Gupta, in connection with his murder following frequent domestic disputes over their four-month-old twins. The arrests, confirmed by officials on Sunday, include Gupta's wife, her two brothers-in-law, and her sister-in-law, while police continue searching for other relatives involved in the fatal attack.

According to investigators, Gupta had been married for three years and lived with his wife and newborn twins. On Friday morning, an argument broke out between the couple after Gupta asked his wife to apply a cream to treat blisters on their son's body. Following the dispute, the woman contacted her family members, who arrived at the residence and assaulted Gupta inside his home in the presence of his parents. Gupta later succumbed to his injuries.

Gupta's mother, Renu Gupta, told police in her statement that seven members of the woman's family carried out the assault. She alleged that the attackers targeted her husband, a heart patient, and that the wife's uncle repeatedly struck Gupta on his chest before fleeing the scene. She stated that the couple had experienced repeated conflicts since the birth of the twins and that the woman's family had previously threatened Gupta over the past year.

Police said questioning of Gupta's mother and sister revealed a history of disputes between the couple regarding expenses and child care, which had led the wife to leave the house multiple times in the past year. In addition to the four individuals arrested, police have detained two others for questioning and deployed teams to trace the wife's uncle, who remains at large.
