Fire Damages Office Equipment and Documents on Delhi's Barakhamba Road

A fire broke out in an office located on the first floor of a multi-storey commercial building on Barakhamba Road, New Delhi, on Thursday morning. The incident triggered panic in the busy commercial area, but the Delhi Fire Service (DFS) managed to bring the situation under control quickly, with no injuries or casualties reported from the site.

According to officials from the Delhi Fire Service, the department received an emergency call regarding the fire at approximately 9:50 AM. The alert indicated that a blaze had erupted inside one of the offices situated on the first floor of the multi-storey building on Barakhamba Road.

Upon receiving the alert, the Delhi Fire Service immediately dispatched eight fire tenders to the scene. Firefighters launched active firefighting operations as soon as they arrived at the commercial complex to prevent the fire from escalating.

The firefighting teams worked quickly to control the blaze and managed to completely extinguish it by around 10:30 AM. Officials noted that the fire was successfully confined to the single office on the first floor, preventing the flames from spreading to other portions of the multi-storey structure.

Although the fire was contained within forty minutes of the initial call, it caused extensive damage to the office interior and electronic equipment. Officials reported that air conditioners, computers, printers, furniture, and important documents stored inside the office were gutted in the incident.

Despite the panic that gripped the commercial building during the morning hours, no casualties or injuries were reported. The exact cause of the fire has not yet been established and remains to be determined by the authorities.
