Fire damages four-storey building in Delhi's Uttam Nagar

A fire broke out in the basement of a ground-plus-three-storey building in the Uttam Nagar area of Delhi on Wednesday morning, quickly spreading across all floors of the structure. The Delhi Fire Service was alerted to the incident and dispatched teams to the scene to control the flames. Officials confirmed that no casualties or injuries were reported during the emergency operation.

The incident took place in a building that features a basement along with a ground floor and three additional storeys. According to details provided by the Delhi Fire Service, the entire structure is spread over an area of approximately 350 square yards. The fire is reported to have started in the basement before moving upward to engulf the higher floors of the building.

As the fire spread throughout the ground-plus-three-storey building, it caused extensive damage to the items stored inside. The Delhi Fire Service stated that the blaze affected electronic goods, electrical goods, furniture, and fixtures on all floors of the property.

Firefighters worked to suppress the flames, and the Delhi Fire Service announced that the blaze was officially brought under control at 6:30 AM on Wednesday morning.

Following the containment of the fire, emergency officials monitored the site to ensure safety. In an official statement issued after the incident, the Delhi Fire Service confirmed that as of 7:05 AM on Wednesday, no casualties had been reported.

Further details regarding what triggered the fire in the basement of the Uttam Nagar building are currently awaited, and authorities have not yet released additional information.
