Filmmaker Priyanshu Modi Launches Debut Poetry Book in Delhi

Filmmaker and writer Priyanshu Modi marked a significant milestone with the launch of his debut poetry book, titled Poems For Cigarettes, during a special book reading event held in Delhi on August 14.

The launch brought together family, close industry friends, and fellow creators to celebrate the release. Modi, known for his award-winning short film The Pill, shared selections from the new collection and spoke about his creative transition between visual storytelling and written verse.

Speaking about the event, Modi noted that releasing the book fulfilled an ambition he had nurtured for 13 years. He described the gathering as an intimate setting focused on the exchange of ideas, thoughts, and perspectives on life, reflecting the core themes of empathy and personal experiences explored throughout the collection.

Modi explained that his background in filmmaking shaped the perspective behind his writing, noting that his habit of observing people and identifying stories in personal moments transferred naturally into poetry. He stated that the launch represented a convergence of storytelling through film and storytelling through poetry.

Several artists and influencers attended the gathering in Delhi to show support for the author, including Ahsan Vazir, Tanya Bedi, Tanishka Bahl, Aashi Sahni, Hardik Arora, Ruchika Methwani, and Arshan Ahmed.
