Family escapes unhurt after suspected AC blast triggers fire in Sector 119 Noida flat

A family escaped unhurt on Monday morning after a fire, triggered by a suspected air-conditioner blast, broke out in a 21st-floor residential flat in Sector 119, Noida. The incident, which occurred around 8:50 am, prompted a swift response from local emergency services, including the dispatch of six fire tenders to the high-rise building.

The affected flat is located in a high-rise building under the jurisdiction of the Sector 113 police station in Gautam Buddh Nagar.

At the time of the incident, the residents of the flat were asleep. However, they managed to wake up and safely evacuate the apartment as soon as they noticed the fire. No injuries were reported among the family members or the residents of the building.

According to Gautam Buddh Nagar Chief Fire Officer Pradeep Kumar, the fire department's control room received a call reporting the blaze at approximately 8:50 am. Because the fire was reported to be severe, the police, an ambulance, and six fire tenders were immediately dispatched to the high-rise.

Upon arrival, around 15 to 20 firefighting personnel entered the burning flat. They gained access to the apartment both through the balcony and from the inside to battle the flames.

Firefighters successfully contained the fire within half an hour of their arrival. Their efforts prevented the blaze from spreading to the rest of the residential building.

While the fire was confined to the single 21st-floor flat, a local police officer confirmed that thick smoke from the incident rose and reached up to two floors above the affected apartment.
