Dwarka Resident Tarun Kumar Assaults Security Guard Over Visitor Register Rule

Dwarka Resident Tarun Kumar Assaults Security Guard Over Visitor Register Rule

A security guard was physically assaulted by a housing society resident at Gate No. 1 of the Vijayee Veer Awas flats in Dwarka, Southwest Delhi, on Thursday morning following an argument over the visitor entry register rule. The incident, which occurred at approximately 11:22 AM, resulted in injuries to the guard and led to a police case being registered against the resident.

According to the Dwarka North Police, a written complaint was received last Thursday detailing the physical altercation between the resident, identified as Tarun Kumar, and the security guard, Manoj, who was posted at the gate of the housing society.

The confrontation reportedly began after Kumar objected to the standard security protocol that requires visitors to make an entry in the register. A senior police officer stated that following the objection, Kumar physically assaulted the guard, wrongfully confined him with the intent to provoke a breach of peace, and created panic within the housing society.

Following the physical altercation, the injured security guard was sent for a medical examination. Police officials stated that the medical examination was conducted to officially ascertain the nature and extent of the physical injuries Manoj sustained during the attack.

A video capturing the assault subsequently went viral on social media on Sunday, drawing widespread attention to the incident. The video, which is one minute and 56 seconds long, shows Kumar repeatedly slapping Manoj, punching him, and pushing him to the ground. The footage also shows the resident hitting the security guard with a slipper during the altercation.

Following the incident, a formal case has been registered at the Dwarka North police station. Police authorities have also issued a notice to Kumar, directing him to join the ongoing investigation into the assault.
