District Administration Demolishes 20 Buildings in Satbari to Widen Hospital Road

The district administration on Monday demolished approximately 20 unauthorised buildings, including farmhouses and other structures, in south Delhi’s Satbari village. The anti-encroachment drive was carried out to clear the designated approach road leading to the Central Armed Police Forces Institute of Medical Sciences.

According to an official, the clearance action targets a 500-metre stretch of road that is currently only 12 feet wide. The administration is expanding the corridor to a width of 100 feet to ensure proper access to the medical facility and ease chronic vehicular congestion in surrounding areas.

The Central Armed Police Forces Institute of Medical Sciences is a strategically vital healthcare facility dedicated to serving personnel of the Central Armed Police Forces and their families. Authorities noted that a wider approach road is critical to guaranteeing safe, dependable, and timely movement for ambulances, emergency vehicles, patients, and healthcare workers.

Demolition squads moved into the locality on Monday backed by heavy police and security presence to prevent any disruption during the clearing process. The heavy deployment ensured the operation was completed without conflict.

An official confirmed that the razed properties lacked required permissions and occupied encroached land. “The buildings were unauthorised, and the demolition was carried out as per law. Heavy security deployment was made at the site, and the action was completed peacefully,” the official said.
