Director Vaibhav Kumaresh Releases Animated Hindi Film Return Of The Jungle

The Hindi animated adventure film 'Return Of The Jungle' released in theatres on May 29, 2026, bringing a homegrown family entertainer to audiences in Delhi and across the country. Directed by acclaimed animator Vaibhav Kumaresh, the film has received a 3.0 rating from both critics and users for its warm celebration of Indian storytelling traditions.

The 1-hour-36-minute film features a cast that includes Surendra Bhatia, Manish Bhawan, Arav Bhatia, and Saurav Chakraborty. The story revolves around a schoolboy named Mihir and his group of friends who find themselves constantly targeted by a ruthless school bully. Seeking a way to handle the conflict, the children turn to their grandfather, lovingly called Thatha.

Through a series of ancient, Panchatantra-inspired jungle stories, Thatha imparts lessons on courage, empathy, teamwork, and wisdom. These traditional tales help the children find peaceful and clever solutions to their contemporary, real-world struggles.

In addition to its cultural narrative, the film stands out for its visual appeal. Kumaresh and his animation team created a vibrant world that blends modern Indian settings with lush, imaginative jungle landscapes. The expressive character designs and fluid animation have been noted for bringing a comforting familiarity to younger audiences.

The film’s soundtrack, composed by Roto Shah and Advait Nemlekar, incorporates a mix of traditional bhajans and folk melodies to enhance the local flavor. While some viewers noted that the frequent musical interludes occasionally slowed down the pacing of the second half, the overall musical direction was recognized for its energetic contribution to the film.

Though the plot remains straightforward and predictable for adult viewers, the film's sincerity and colorful presentation have made it a delightful addition to Indian animation, offering a wholesome cinematic experience for families.
