Demolition Drive Clears 20 Houses, Farmhouses on Satbari Gaushala Road in Chhatarpur

Authorities on Monday launched a demolition drive along Satbari Gaushala Road in south Delhi's Chhatarpur area, razing around 20 unauthorised houses and a few farmhouses as part of an exercise to widen the road.

The operation was carried out under the orders of the District Magistrate (South). Heavy machinery, including bulldozers, was deployed along the stretch to dismantle the structures identified by officials as unauthorised.

A significant security contingent was stationed in the area to maintain law and order while the structures were brought down. Local authorities deployed heavy police personnel alongside paramilitary forces to prevent any untoward incidents during the drive.

"We have deployed multiple police teams on site to ensure that the drive is carried out peacefully. No one will be allowed to breach law and order," a senior police officer said regarding the security arrangements.

According to officials, the primary objective of the demolition exercise was to clear the road stretch to facilitate widening work. Details regarding the exact extent of land cleared during the drive and the notices issued to affected property owners were not immediately available.
