Delhi University Warns Applicants Against AI-Generated and Altered Documents

The Delhi University admission branch in New Delhi has issued an official notice warning applicants against submitting artificial intelligence-generated, digitally altered, or heavily edited documents. This warning is directed at candidates participating in the ongoing undergraduate and postgraduate admission process.

According to the notification, the university's admission branch observed that several candidates applying for various undergraduate and postgraduate programmes have been uploading AI-generated, digitally altered, or heavily edited documents.

The university administration has taken a serious view of the matter, calling such practices a threat to the integrity of the admissions. In its official notice, the university stated that applicants are strictly warned that such practices undermine the integrity of the admission process.

This warning has been issued even as the admission cycle at the university continues to gather pace. In the first round of the undergraduate admissions, Delhi University offered seat allocations to 93,033 candidates.

According to the latest data released by the university on Sunday, a significant majority of these candidates have responded to the offers. Specifically, 81,979 candidates, which accounts for 88.12 percent of the total, have accepted their allotted seats.

So far, a total of 45,316 candidates have officially confirmed their admissions, representing 48.7 percent of the total allocations.

Furthermore, the admission process remains active, and payment links have already been generated for 33,383 applications as candidates complete their remaining formalities.
