Delhi University Opens First Phase of UG Admissions for 71600 Seats

Delhi University on Saturday launched the first phase of its undergraduate admission process for the 2026-27 academic session, opening registrations for approximately 71,600 seats across 67 colleges. The entire process is being conducted online through the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) portal, utilizing candidates' Common University Entrance Test (CUET) scores.
Dean of Admissions Haneet Gandhi stated that the first phase is now open, and the second phase will begin by next week. The university is offering admissions across 73 programmes and more than 100 BA programme combinations.
In the first phase, candidates can register using only their CUET application number. To ensure a secure experience, the university has auto-integrated candidates' essential credentials, which eliminates duplicate data and minimises entry errors. Once a registration is submitted, no changes, edits, or modifications will be allowed.
Applicants must pay a one-time, non-refundable registration fee. The fee is ₹250 for the unreserved, Other Backward Classes (Non-Creamy Layer), and Economically Weaker Section categories. For Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, and Persons with Benchmark Disabilities, the registration fee is ₹100.
During the second phase, applicants will map their CUET test papers with the subjects they studied in Class 12. Only CUET language and domain-specific papers in which the candidate passed Class 12 will be considered for eligibility. Candidates will then submit their preferences for colleges and programmes.
If two candidates secure identical CUET scores and have the same preferences, the university will use Class 10 and Class 12 board examination marks as tie-breakers. Candidates are advised to fill in these marks with utmost care.
The third phase will comprise seat allocation and admission. Candidates will have to accept their allotted seats and pay the admission fee across multiple rounds. For the sports supernumerary quota, candidates can apply for up to three sports and upload up to three certificates issued between May 1, 2023, and April 30, 2026.
